About us

The Paisley East and Whitehaugh Community Council area is home to just over 8,000 residents and includes the Seedhill, Whitehaugh, and Arkleston neighbourhoods. The local area incorporates some of Paisley’s most treasured assets, including Paisley Town Hall, Paisley Abbey, St Mirin’s Cathedral, and Barshaw Park.

Our built heritage is enviable, with 25 listed buildings in the local area. We have excellent transport links to our surrounding areas including Glasgow city centre, the M8 motorway and Glasgow Airport, with Hawkhead Train Station providing an important local rail link. Residents enjoy access to a range of leisure and recreational facilities, including the Lagoon Leisure Centre, Kelburne Cricket Club, Seedhill Playing Fields, Barshaw Golf Course and several
bowling clubs. There are a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, and several schools.
